About Soph

Sophia is an actor, athlete, writer, singer, and dancer based in New York City. Originally from Mexico City (¡Saludos a mis paisanos!), she is an upcoming graduate of New York University, earning her BFA in Drama at Tisch School of the Arts while completing a second major in Political Science. She is currently training at The Classical Studio, an advanced acting conservatory within Tisch that accepts only fourteen students per year, a space where language, imagination, and classical text are pushed to their limits.

As a writer, Sophia is developing an original feature film inspired by the true story of her great-grandmother, a Holocaust survivor. Through this project, she honors a strong woman in her family while exploring themes of resilience, courage, and the unbreakable human spirit—stories she hopes will inspire others. Her creative work—on stage, on screen, and on the page—reflects the same instinct for nuance, emotional resonance, and storytelling precision that drives this deeply personal project.

Outside the studio, Sophia leads the NYU Fencing Team as captain, competing in epee at the NCAA level. She also represents Mexico on the National and World Teams, competing internationally among the sport’s top athletes. Years of fencing have strengthened her focus and grounded her physicality, giving her a natural command of presence she brings into every rehearsal room and every frame.

She is also a certified Rapier and Dagger stunt coordinator with the Society of American Fight Directors, blending movement, text, and precision in her work both onstage and onscreen.

Her dog is named Waffle, a reminder that even the most disciplined lives need a dash of absurdity.
